1. Who we are
FleetSijil provides fleet-management software to businesses in Saudi Arabia. This policy explains what data we process and how we protect it, in line with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
2. Data we process
For our business customers we process operational fleet data (vehicles, documents, drivers, assignments, fuel, fines, maintenance) and account data (names, work emails, phone numbers, roles). We process this on behalf of the customer, who controls it. During an active work shift that a driver starts in the mobile app, the app records precise location and speed (trip routes) and motion-sensor readings (accelerometer and gyroscope, used to detect driving events such as harsh braking or rapid acceleration). This collection runs as a foreground service with a persistent notification and continues while the app is in the background. It begins only after the driver is shown a clear disclosure and gives consent, and it stops when the driver ends the shift. This trip and driving-behaviour data is made available to the driver’s employer (the organisation that operates the fleet) so they can monitor trips, mileage and driving safety. The app also uses the camera and photos to attach fuel receipts and inspection images, and push notifications for expiry and task alerts. None of this data is used for advertising.
3. How we use it
We use the data to provide the service: tracking compliance, sending expiry alerts, producing reports, and, where the employer enables it, monitoring driver trips and driving behaviour during shifts. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer fleet data for advertising.
4. Storage & isolation
Each customer’s data is isolated at the database layer itself, so one tenant can never read another’s records. We plan for in-Kingdom hosting as we scale operations in Saudi Arabia.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Transient data (such as raw location pings and read notifications) is purged on a rolling retention window.
